Pakistan: Announcement of more schools and trial of corona vaccine



Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Health and Focal Person for Code 19, has said that Pakistan has joined the list of countries where trials of corona virus vaccine have started. The education department has announced that more children will be able to go to school from September 23.

Addressing a press conference along with Dr Faisal Sultan, Major General Amir Ikram, head of the National Institute of Health (NIH), said it was a three-stage trial.

He said that in the current phase, 8,000 to 10,000 people would be vaccinated in the next four to six weeks and would be monitored for 12 months.

He added that the vaccine was very safe and that the Chinese government had given it to security officials. He added that the vaccine is similar to the Australasia Zenica vaccine developed by Oxford University in England.

It should be noted that in August, Pakistan had approved the trial of COD 19 vaccine on humans and two Chinese companies are working on the development of this vaccine in collaboration with the government of Pakistan.

A statement issued by the National Institutes of Health last month said it would be the first clinical trial of any vaccine in Pakistan.




Announcing the opening of more schools

The second phase of school reopening by the Pakistan Education Department will begin on Wednesday, September 23. Officials say there has been no increase in corona cases since the school reopened.

"The rate of positive cases reached 22% at one point in June, but it continued to decline to 1.89% before the school reopened."

The current situation of corona virus in Pakistan

On the other hand, according to the latest statistics, the situation of corona virus in Pakistan is under control and 582 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours.


Although the increase is not huge, it is a fact that the last few days have seen some increase in the number of victims and some increase in cases, especially in Sindh and Balochistan.

The number of tests in Pakistan is also on the rise and yesterday Pakistan set a new record for the highest number of tests when 36,155 tests were conducted across the country.

The total number of victims in the country so far has reached 306886 out of which 293159 people have recovered and 6424 people have died out of which four people were killed yesterday.

Vaccine trials on humans


Earlier, human trials of a corona virus vaccine developed by Oxford University were also conducted, with preliminary results showing that the immune system was able to fight off the disease.

The University of Oxford tested 1077 people and injected them with antibodies and white blood cells to fight the corona virus.

The vaccine is being developed from a genetically modified virus that infects monkeys with the common cold.

The virus has been modified so that it does not make humans sick and looks like a corona virus.
